My Background
I'm a network news anchor, play-by-play broadcaster, writer and reporter working a number of roles in the media industry.
I anchor, write and produce newscasts for Local News Live, airing on 113 Gray TV stations, based out of Washington D.C. Before working for Gray, I anchored for the NBC News Radio Network out of the nation's capital.
As a play-by-play broadcaster, I call games for Howard University, Northern Illinois University, the BIG EAST Digital Network and the USL/ NWSL. I also report from the sidelines for the Sportsfever Television Network, based out of Pennsylvania.
Prior to moving to D.C., I anchored and reported for four years in both radio and TV in Peoria, IL. While with 1470 & 100.3 WMBD, our station experienced our best ever book. Our news department was active on social media, helping double the station's Facebook following. I also freelanced for an independent baseball team, local colleges and a network that broadcasts NCAA national championships.
From 2011-2014 I worked as a sports MMJ and play-by-play broadcaster for Eastern Illinois University and the Peoria Chiefs. During that time, I received my M.S. in political science from EIU. My graduate department was kind enough to issue me a grant to present at a media conference in Zambia while I obtained my degree
With the help of my great mentors at North Central College, I earned multiple statewide and national awards for my sports reporting and play-by-play work as an undergraduate from 2007-11. I interned and freelance throughout the Chicago-land area while calling play-by-play on my campus radio station.
